Rekindle Old Passions

                                               By kiki

Last night as Connie’s back was to me I tip-toe behind her and put my arms around her and nibble on her neck. As she gave a surprise little jerk she asked me “Whaddya doing? “Just trying to rekindle old passions” I replied. She jumped out of my arms faster than a speeding bullet and said in a kind of loud voice “no, please, no, can’t you just let things well enough alone?!!” Women!!!!

The Legendary El Monte Legion Stadium

                                               By kiki

Remember going to the Legion to dance to some oldies? To watch boxing? Getting in fights at the dances for giving some dude's ruca the eye. And, you rucas, getting into fights, over some dude that didn’t want either one of you in the first place, remember those glory days at The El Monte Legion Stadium? I do!!

Connie - 1956

 By kiki

I am sure I posted this pic before, but what the hell? So I am posting it again: it shows the Babe pregnant with our firstborn, Linda, sitting on the fender of our '46 Chevy. It was in 1956 in front of the apartment we were living at on 6th Street just east of Eastman Street, East Los Angeles.

The Chevy is missing its hubcaps (full moons) because a kid that used to live down the hill would steal 'em all the time and then sell 'em back to me for 5 bucks. Damn, kids!!...Lol!!!!

Connie is losing it

                                                  By kiki

Last night Connie asked me if a homemade hamburger would do for dinner, I told her “yes that will be fine”. I stayed in our bedroom watching TV as she went into the kitchen to make the burgers, after a few minutes she came back to tell me that the burgers would be ready in a few minutes, the reason she did that was so that I could give myself my before dinner insulin shot. After shooting up I went to the dining room and sat down to wait for my burger, within a few minutes Connie sat a paper plate in front of me with a burger and chips, I took a bite and thought ‘good burger’, but as I took that bite Connie came rushing out of the kitchen holding a spatula with a hamburger patty on it “wait” she yelled at me “I forgot to put the patty in your burger” Never a dull moment with Connie around, that's for sure!!!
